A few months ago, it was brought to light that Councilman Albert
DiChiara was in violation of the Local Government Ethics Law (LGEL) in his
failure to disclose that that he owns a single family home in Fairfield NJ in which he
purchased for $702,500 in August 2017.
In response to my posts, Albert DiChiara finally
disclosed his Fairfield residence on his 2019 disclosure statement which was
due to the State by the end of April. Albert
tried to deceive the people of Lodi by only listing 33% ownership. Albert should elaborate. Albert also listed ownership in two other New
Jersey properties. NONE of the three properties were disclosed in 2016, 2017, or 2018.
Albert
is listed as the owner of the Fairfield property and his address is listed as Fairfield. His property taxes will be
mailed to Fairfield and not to Lodi. If Albert has a mortgage for his Fairfield home, what is listed as his PRIMARY residence? How about for home insurance?
Of the three properties Albert disclosed,
his name and address only appear on one of the tax cards provided on public
record sites. That one address is Fairfield
of course.
