"We are already protecting the taxpayers," board member Michael Nardino said.

This appeared in today’s Record:

"We are already protecting the taxpayers," board member Michael Nardino said. "The entire project is suspended. If you take a straw poll right now, not one person would vote in favor of the project."

We?

Just so there is no confusion, everyone should be aware:

1)     Mike Nardino recommended the demolition and replacement.

2)     Mike Nardino voted for the demolition and replacement.

3)     Mike Nardino approved a $6,053,500 contract for demolition and replacement at a special meeting two days after Christmas.

4)     Mike Nardino voted against suspending the project.

5)     Mike Nardino voted for the 2017-18 budget that funds the project.

6)     Mike Nardino voted against placing the referendum on the November ballot (twice in the last two months).

7)     Mike Nardino is not protecting taxpayers.

8)     Mike Nardino still wants the project.

Just so there is no confusion.

Vinny Martin should never have been allowed on the Lodi BOE while he was resource officer.

The conflict was obvious at the time.  Someone on the BOE should have known better.  People get paid to know that.

When I mentioned that conflict on this blog, Vinny Martin whined for months.

This appeared in an article about Garfield today on northjersey:

“"The commission considers the regular, daily interaction of the board of member with the schools and its personnel to be in substantial conflict with his duties on the board," The New Jersey School Ethics Commission's Advisory Opinion said.

Stewart's current position with the Garfield Police Department involves regular contact with students, teachers and other school personnel and he routinely conducts school safety checks, he said.”
