Like
you. I am deeply concerned about the future of our town. Wild tax and debt increases,
an entrenched bureaucracy, and reckless spending threatens to make Lodi
unlivable for many of us. Unlike our opponents who continue to prosper with the
status quo that they helped shape, we have been compelled to run to put an end
to a system that benefits a select few at the expense of many.
We
will take a businesslike approach to isolate the waste and excess of today and
reduce the municipal budget significantly. This will not only give you
substantial tax savings, it will also send a message to all municipal
departments that the days of out-of-control spending and skyrocketing taxes are
over.
Because
we are beholden to no one, owe no favors, and have no big time backers, ours is
a modest campaign. No hoopla. No fancy events. No big ticket parties. But, our
message is clear. We will review every item of the budget to unearth tax
savings. We’ll find ways to run government more efficiently while delivering
the services you need. The crony network will be broken! It won’t be easy, but
it must be done. Lodi can’t continue down the path of financial suicide that
our opponents insist on taking us. With your help, we can put Lodi back on a
course that benefits the majority of our residents.
While
Lodi Pride tries to reinvent themselves in a hurry, Citizens Against
Corruption, is already sharply focused on the issues confronting our
community—with plans for tax relief, fiscal accountability, transparency, and
improved services.
So,
if you like things as they are, vote PRIDE. If you care about Lodi’s future and
your own VOTE CITIZENS AGAINST CORRUPTION Column 1. On May 14th send a message that
patronage, cronyism, and reckless spending are over.
