The BOE’s #1 Priority: Rush to Raise Taxes!

The Board was so eager to raise taxes without answering to the public, they voted tonight (instead of Wednesday) to submit their proposed budget to the County.

Link to Lodi Live’s broadcast of the meeting:

This was another deceitful act to shut out any public input.

The budget isn’t responsible or fair.

The district was notified about its $2.1M in additional State Aid on March 13th.   Absent the additional State aid, the budget would have resulted in a 7.5% tax increase.  With the additional aid, the budget still raises school taxes 2.08%.

If the Board is raising taxes 2.08% while receiving $2.1M more in State Aid and taking the $7.1M administration building out of the budget, what will the Board do next year when they aren't so lucky?

This spending cannot be sustained.  This Board is disengaged and reckless with other people’s money.
