The Lodi Mayor and Council are appointing another law
firm. It’s one of the most political in
State. It was at the center of controversy
during the Ferriero years of Bergen County.
Breaking from past practice, the Lodi mayor and
council didn't use a Request for Qualifications and pretend to go through a fake
selection process. Alan Spiniello
claimed tonight that Decotiis just happened to send his proposal to Lodi and its
name appeared on tonight’s agenda. He
claimed they were going into “closed session” tonight to discuss the matter
even though they already selected a firm.
He even said they would discuss whether to use Requests for Proposals.
Nobody at
tonight’s meeting would answer how Decotis’ proposal magically appeared before
Lodi or who from Lodi was their contact person.
Emil Carafa was absent. Is he Decotiis’ contact? Emil is hooked up with the County Democrats. Emil strives off of pay-to-play abuses. Emil puts partisan politics ahead of Lodi
residents.
How much will Decotiis funnel into Emil’s next campaign?
Will Decotiis represent the interests of Lodi or will it represent the
interests of hack politicians with the development around 199 Garibaldi Ave?
Why isn’t Alan Spiniello’s $210,000 part-time salary reduced
since all these political firms are doing his job?
From the New York Times in 2005, before Decotiis
appeared in all the articles about Ferriero:
