Internal posting for HS Secretary went to the external candidate: Donald Scorzetti’s long-time girlfriend.

After a 40 day delay, Quatrone and his 6 Board members finally submitted an answer to the ethics complaint via their attorney Rita Barone.  Link to the ethics complaint:

Quatrone and his 6 members attached the internal posting as Exhibit L in their answer.  This was the only job posting for the position.  It wasn't posted on the district website.  It wasn't included in the Record ads for job openings.  The wording of this internal posting implies it wasn't open to the public.

Why does this posting make them look even worse?

1)  "Staff members" were only given a 4 day window to apply.  This was done despite the fact that Ronetta Capizzi gave her retirement notice long before the posting.

2)  Quatrone claims that there were only 6 resumes and 6 interviews.  He claims that was the total including all internal candidates and “resumes on file”. Why was Ms. Degondea the only member of the public with a "resume on file"?

3)  Scorzetti’s girlfriend was an external applicant (never an employee of the district).   She wasn’t a “Staff member”.  She got the job.

Rita Barone wrote over and over that Renee Degondea was “simply the best qualifed person for the job as recommended by the Superintendent” and "simply the best person for the job".  Ms. Barone even tried to speak for me in stating that I never claimed Ms. Degondea wasn’t the best qualified.  Rita Barone claims that I did something wrong by questioning Quatrone for recommending Donald Scorzetti’s girlfriend and continuing his unfair hiring practices.

In typical Frank Quatrone form, he placed all responsibility for his recommendation on Frank D’Amico.  It was repeated over and over again throughout the answer.  It's always convenient to place all responsibility on someone not named in the complaint.
