The statement below had to be in response to Emil Carafa’s
defense of nepotism:
“Some
who protest such ordinances argue, in effect, that they are overkill, that
nepotism in a small town is no different from practices that go on inside the
doors of corporate America. That may be, but corporate America is not charged
with upholding the public good; people elected and appointed to
taxpayer-supported services are.”
