From the article:
In arriving at her new contact in September of 2017,
Dyer said her lawyer and the board’s attorney, Gross, were following both the
letter of the law and the advice of Monmouth County’s executive county
superintendent of schools, Lester Richens, an official of the state Department
of Education under then-Gov. Chris Christie.
“When my contract was approved, my attorney and the
Board's attorney followed the advice received from the Department of Education
through the Executive County Superintendent,” Dyer’s email stated. “They also
relied on the language in the applicable regulation.”
Haven’t we seen this
before? The New Jersey Department of
Education and too many of its Executive County Superintendents don’t follow the
law. They rubber stamp contracts without
reviewing them.
All board members
involved in this action should be removed.
The County Superintendent and the Commissioner of Education should be
fired.
There is nothing more
frustrating than seeing taxpayers being ripped off, laws being violated, and
watching the department of education providing cover for the board members and superintendents in violation.
