Apparently the whole town knows the details of recent
LEA negotiations. Everyone but me.
Many people approached me in the last two weeks ,
telling details of contract negotiations that took place a few weeks ago and
how everything has been settled. I have
not been updated on anything that Joe Leto has been discussing publicly. I have no knowledge of the meeting or
anything that has been agreed upon.
Joe Leto has been very irresponsible with his public
statements.
There is a serious trust issue between Lodi residents
and the Board.
This situation creates more distrust.
The timeline speaks for itself. The LEA and its endorsed candidates were working out the details during an election.
This is unacceptable.
Joe Leto also has some issues with his “public
expressions” regarding other Board matters. If
he wants to discuss Board matters on social media, he can’t preface his
statements identifying himself as the President of Lodi Board of Education and
purporting his statements as those of the Board. He has to speak for himself and only
himself. He needs to make that clear. At
some point, he needs to read our by-laws.
Lodi students and their families had a difficult week. Many parents are still very concerned about
their children’s learning environment.
Many have been inconvenienced. They
have a right to express their frustration.
I find it very distasteful for Joe Leto to brag about himself in what
appears to be an official BOE response to parents’ frustrations.
