One day before voting on the ballot question, Board Attorney Alisa Dichiara throws in yet another obstacle.

Email just submitted to Ms. Dichiara:

Ms. Dichiara,

The statutes you listed are very general with NJSA 40A:16-2 being listed separate from the ballot question laws and regulations.

We have been discussing this since January 4th.  I don't know why you waited until June 27 (one day before we approve the question).

With wording so general, you should have sought advice from the County Board of Elections or the New Jersey Department of State.

The people of Lodi want to vote, deserve to vote, and expect to vote.

The Board came this far.  Why shouldn't we vote on the question tomorrow and move on from there?

We can seek an opinion from the County or State.

If your opinion is correct, we can ask the mayor and council to approve a resolution on the Board's behalf to get our question on the ballot.  If the mayor and council do not support our resolution, let them explain themselves for taking away Lodi's right to vote.

Please give the Board members all options.

Thank you.
