The night before the budget vote, I exposed that the budget
presented by the former business administrator and former superintendent as
having a 0% tax increase would actually raise school taxes 3.14%. Board members were lied to for months and the
public was about to be lied to the following day.
I along with some other board members did the
responsible thing. We postponed the
budget vote. We demanded a more responsible
budget that would NOT raise taxes hundreds of dollars.
This showed that some board members are providing
accountability and oversight, something that never existed in 2016.
I along with other members of the budget committee
provided complete transparency by disclosing to the public what took place
during committee meetings.
How did Nancy Cardone respond to us stopping the 3.14%
tax increase and being upfront with the public?
She had a temper tantrum. She
went on and on and on. It got really
bad.
