A ranking for the 2016-17 school year placed Lodi as the 38th highest in the state (out of 647) for administrators’ salaries. Lodi is one of the poorest districts and has the worst school tax burden.

This Wednesday, the Board will be voting on a new
contract for principals, vice-principals, and the guidance director. The public should be shocked at the
percentage increase for this type of bargaining unit. The new contract will propel Lodi further to
the top of the ranking.
I respect the hard work and dedication of most Lodi
administrators. However, the Lodi
taxpayers must be considered when all decisions are made. There has to be some balance and objectivity.
Over the years, the Superintendent and his conflicted Boards
violated the district’s hiring policies.
Many administrators received their jobs because they were related to
Board members or the Capizzis. That is
why Lodi administrator salaries are amongst the highest in the State.
It should concern the taxpayers of Lodi that the
President of the bargaining unit being discussed is Mike Cardone. His mother Nancy Cardone is a member of the
Lodi Board of Education and will be voting on her son’s contract.
It should also concern the taxpayers of Lodi that Frank
Quatrone is a member of the Board’s negotiation teams being he is the Superintendent. How can he fairly represent Lodi when he just
delivered a 20% salary increase to himself?
