Donald Scorzetti didn’t take long. Tomorrow is his first regular meeting and his girlfriend
is being hired. This is what “Children
First” is all about.
Why is this unethical?
Scorzetti secured an unwarranted advantage and
employment for someone close to him.
The position was NEVER advertised in the newspaper.
The position was NEVER posted on the district website.
Some of the other positions being filled were posted in the newspaper or
on the district website.
The position was supposedly posted somewhere in our
schools. The person being hired
doesn’t work in our schools. Who informed her about it?
The public was unaware of this opening.
The public was unaware of this opening.
The relationship between Scorzetti and his girlfriend was
never disclosed during a personnel meeting.
Board members take an oath of ethics to hire the best
qualified.
Those that had a resume on file never had a chance.
Justifiable impression that
public trust is violated:
Scorzetti will be voting on Frank Quatrone’s contract
right after Quatrone hires Scorzetti’s girlfriend.
One hand wiping the other. Quid pro quo.
Additional Conflict:
Scorzetti is the Deputy Chief of Police. The superintendent’s brother is the Chief of
Police.
Summary:
Highly qualified Lodi residents that give a lot to the
community are denied equal employment opportunity. Our school district is being run as an
employment agency for “family and friends” of corrupt politicians.
