When criticism of Murphy’s education policies are coming
from the Star-Ledger and from fellow Democrats in the state senate, you know
there is a serious problem. It is more
than clear that Murphy is under complete control of the NJEA which happens to
be the state’s most powerful special interest group.
I understand the complaints about PARCC testing coming
from students and teachers. However,
there has to be some measurable indicators in place to track student
performance. Teacher made tests and
quizzes do not ensure that the proper curriculum is being used. Every teacher is different. Students can receive top grades in the
classroom and not be proficient at their grade level.
When tax dollars are used, there has to be some form
of accountability. If PARCC is scrapped, there should be a replacement.
Murphy should consider these things when pandering to
the NJEA.
