Some board attorneys are fine with members committing ethics violations to enrich superintendents…

Link to article from the New Jersey Herald:

From the article:

“Anderson, after being confronted publicly about her votes at last month's meeting, declined to speak with the New Jersey Herald based on what she asserted was a board policy that only the board president and vice president may speak to the media, but provided a written statement that she indicated was prepared in consultation with board attorney Douglas Silvestro along with Ripley and Board President Kyle Vealey.

"Although I was already aware that I could not participate in Dr. Ripley's evaluation or contract approvals, I was not previously aware that I was conflicted from voting on any and all actions regarding his employment, including the payment of merit bonuses to which he was entitled under his contract," she said in her statement.”

The High Point board is out of control.  They are doing everything that Capizzi First board members have been doing for decades.  They even have same board attorney as Lodi who sugar coats blatant violations and acts as a defense attorney for those committing the violations.  The similarities are striking.

The reporter of this article did a great job.  He really shed light on what it taking place too often by boards overtaken by corruption.  He showed how too many executive county superintendents are completely useless.  They provide no oversight and enable the corruption.  He showed how the state's nepotism restrictions are completely skirted when board members step down, get their relatives hired, and then rejoin the boards.
