Early on, Gary Paparozzi showed that he is no longer
an impartial Planner but rather an advocate for the project.
A resident from Long Valley expressed that she perceived
the project to be a “done deal” based on what she was hearing. Paparozzi’s response kind of confirmed that.
There have been two hearings for this case so far with
no mention of the environment. Paparozzi was
the Mayor for 8 years. He has to have
some knowledge of the environmental problems with property. He hasn’t mentioned it. You can’t
sweep that under the rug.
Borough officials should be pro-active with the DEP. They shouldn't expect residents in the area to do their job for them.

Paparozzi appears to have too much power and influence
with the Board. That’s a problem. Paparozzi
has always sided with big money and powerful developers. Some examples: allowing Pinto to increase
its tonnage on Main Street from 80 tons to 350 tons a day, Paparozzi’s personal
town house projects while he was Mayor, and more recently the “Vue” on Harrison
Ave.
Paparozzi claims that ordinances will be changed after
this case but they will not impact this applicant. If things need to be changed, Paparozzi must believe
a problem exists. Paparozzi was a Mayor
for 8 years and a councilman before. He has been the Borough Planner for years. 200 Gregg Street was vacant while he was the
Mayor and while he was Planner. Why hasn’t
he addressed these issues prior to this application?
