Via patronage? Yes!

From Debra’s complaint:

3.     Mr. Curioni created and posts to a blog about Lodi Borough and Lodi School District.  On numerous occasions including May 27, 2017, Mr. Curioni’s blog post has referred to Ms. Kwapniewski as, “Debbie Downer.”  Additionally, he has implied that Ms. Kwapniewski was not qualified for her teaching position with the District which she assumed in 2001 and rather that she obtained her employment via patronage.  Said blog comments are patently false and cast a negative light upon Ms. Kwapniewski in both her role as union representative and in her role as a teaching staff member in the district (Exhibit A).

Via patronage?

Debra Defalco was hired by the Lodi BOE as a pre-k teacher in 2001.

August Defalco was hired by the Lodi BOE as “District Technology Coordinator” shortly before.  Despite his high salary, other people were brought in to do his job.

August Defalco sat on the Lodi Board of Education in the nineties.

August Defalco managed the political campaigns for the “machine” during that time period.  His mailing permit (No. 35) is on all their campaign fliers.

There is no question that this brother and sister team received their jobs via patronage.  Being vicious during campaigns pays off in Lodi.  Just ask board candidate Nancy Cardone.

“Debbie Downer” was an SNL skit:
