Since joining the board, I had three frivolous ethics
complaints filed against me. And I have had
a lot of nails in my tires (usually after meetings).
But it’s still a rewarding experience. We accomplished so much over the last few
months with just 4 votes, 3 votes, and sometimes even 2 votes.
We stopped the contract that was already awarded for
the $7.5M scam. We stopped a tax
increase. We improved transparency (detailed
agendas on-line). We fought for more fairness in hiring. Those are only a few things.
It’s sad that people are being viciously attacked and
smeared for doing exactly what the voters asked for.
I look at those behind the attacks and realize we must
be doing something right.
