Most job postings for Business Administrator/Board Secretary look like this:

When the Lodi BOE hired Marc Capizzi,

Joe Capizzi announced his surprise retirement and his son’s appointment in the same sentence.

Lodi never advertised the position anywhere.

Lodi never interviewed one other candidate.

Joe Licata called the appointment and process a “no brainer”.

Experience,

Capizzi had no prior school experience.  Most distrcts seek a minimum of five years.

Capizzi probably did not hold a Standard NJ Business Administrator Certificate being he had no prior school experience.

Paying more for nepotism and politics,

In his 4th year, Capizzi is already collecting a $168,318 salary.  It is one of the highest in New Jersey.

The appointment drew attention from outside Lodi,

Even the Record covered it: “All in the family”

The results of the “no brainer”,

Capizzi gave Lodi an unnecessary, large tax increase his first year on the job.

The Capizzis clearly had the lead on the $7.5 milllion administration building that everyone is against.

Capizzi uses the same, old, outdated practices of his father.
