George Reggo is guilty of far more than just ethics violations. His official misconduct warrants much more than a $1000 fine.

Prior to 2013, I was informing Lodi residents that George Reggo was engaging in official misconduct by giving unwarranted tax breaks to the friends and family of Lodi politicians.

Members of the current Lodi mayor and council were aware of Reggo’s tax fixing scandal.

Borough Manager Vincent Caruso was aware of what Reggo was doing.

$210,00 part-time Alan Spiniello knew of Reggo's official misconduct.  In 2013, Alan Spiniello told me to file an OPRA request to see the list of politicians that received tax reductions from Reggo.  When I filed the OPRA request, the borough refused to turn over the records.

This administration knew of Reggo’s egregious violations.  To this day, they still keep Reggo in Lodi’s tax office.  Why?  Members of the administration, their relatives, and campaign contributors received unwarranted tax breaks from George Reggo.  If George Reggo goes down for his misconduct, they can be implicated.

I hope the prosecutor’s office or AG’s office read the articles about George Reggo on northjersey.com and open an investigation.  They will be astonished at what they learn.  Reggo’s official misconduct amounts to a whole lot more than an ethics violation.  His actions should be met with a penalty much more severe than a $1000 fine.
