Repost from July 7, 2014: The Rest of Lodi is Paying for Luna’s “Entitlement Class”

This post is intended to shed light on Luna’s designated “Entitlement Class”.  It will also bring the Reggo/Wurms scandal back into the conversation.

Luna and our five council members believe that they can do special favors for themselves, family, friends, BOE members, and anyone else that they designate as part of their entitlement class.  They deliver these special favors at the expense of everyone else.  And some price tags lately have been a little too extravagant for the public’s liking.

I respect Chief Caruso and the job that he did.  This post is not an attack on him.

But I will use his former address to show how out of control Luna and the Lodi Council are.

The house in question had two tax reductions from 2005 to 2013, dropping the assessment from $550,000 to $410,000.  This was a $140,000 reduction which translates to a $4,452.00 annual savings.  The taxes are less now than they were in 2008.

This house sold on July 15, 2013 for $509,000 ($99,000 above the new assessment).  It's current Zestimate is $512,603.

These numbers show that something special was done for an individual at the expense of everyone else in Lodi.   And the end result proves that these reductions were not justified.

I know that Luna, Wurms, Reggo and some members of this council have done something very wrong with their “in house reductions”.  They have never been held accountable for their actions.  In fact, Wurms was just awarded another NO BID contract last week to be Lodi’s Tax Counsel.
