A few examples of “Lodi Corruption” during Marc Schrieks’ last term as mayor…

Former Mayor Marc Schrieks was aware of and responsible for the following abuses taking place during his last term in office:

·       Lodi Tax Assessor George Reggo was drastically lowering the property taxes for “family and friends” of Lodi politicians.  The reductions (favors) were conducted “in house” without tax appeals ever being filed. This resulted in the rest of Lodi taking on a larger tax burden.

·       Public contract laws were violated.

·       Politicians, campaign donors, and those close to them were enrolled in the public pension system when they were prohibited by state law for not meeting work requirements.

·       Politicians and campaign donors were wrongfully receiving health benefits and dental benefits for years.

·       Pay-to-play abuses resulted with the Borough overpaying hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for professional services.

·       Drug Alliance funds were diverted to a councilwoman’s son as “consulting fees” without the Borough maintaining or producing the required paperwork.

·       New patronage jobs were being created simply with a memo.  Positions were never posted.  Nobody had any knowledge of all the campaign donors and former elected officials being added to payroll.

As Mayor, Marc Schrieks was made aware of all of these abuses. He refused to correct them.  Two state investigators from Trenton had to step in and address some of the abuses for him.

Marc Schrieks cannot be trusted to return to public office.  Lodi Corruption = High Taxes.

Sidenote: Every abuse described above is backed up with documentation and can be found by searching this blog's archives.
