OPRA is an Essential Tool for Transparency and Accountability in Government…

I submitted OPRA requests with three different public agencies recently.  Two of those agencies fulfilled the requests within 7 business days.  One did not.

The New Jersey Department of Education has a well deserved reputation of being unresponsive and inefficient (a bloated bureaucracy of unqualified Murphy campaign staffers).  But even the DOE fulfilled my OPRA request in 7 business days.  They emailed me the Licata settlement that was hidden from the public.

The public agency that did not fulfill any part of my OPRA request is the Borough of Lodi.  Forget about 7 days.  Nothing has yet been provided in 18 days.  Lodi was the only public body to pull the pandemic card to skirt the Open Public Records Act.

The Borough Clerk’s office should be free of politics and should not be taking its orders from the Luna family.
