PRIDE’s $210,000 Part-Time Boro Attorney couldn’t answer if Luna’s hiring violated Civil Service regulations…

At tonight’s meeting, Mayor Emil Carafa refused to explain why there was no job posting or job description for the new position he created for his running mate’s son.

Alan Spiniello couldn’t answer if Carafa’s administration violated civil service regulations by hiring someone with a newly created CSC title without posting the position.  Alan Spiniello said that he isn’t the “labor counsel” and the labor counsel would have to answer that.  Mr. Spiniello gets paid $210,000 for very limited part-time work.  This is what PRIDE pay-to-play gives you.

In the year 2019, PRIDE continues to hire relative after relative and nobody would know about it unless someone files an OPRA request.  I informed Carafa that towns with our same form of government list their hiring on meeting meetings (part-time and full-time positions).  Carafa wouldn’t explain why they don’t show their hiring anywhere.

I asked the mayor and council why their boro manager will look into televising the meetings now, one month before the election, when they refused to videotape their meetings for the last 7 years.  Since 2012, I have been asking them to videotape their meetings.  They always refused.  Everything they do is for election time.
