New BOE is bringing more transparency...

Catching up with other districts, Lodi now posts public contracts on-line.  You can click on the link below to view a new addition to the district website (I don’t know why names are blacked out on some contracts.  That’s not confidential information.)

If anyone tuned it to last night’s BOE meeting, the board is discussing upgrading equipment so Board meetings can be videotaped and streamed live.  The board also discussed upgrading equipment for better presentations and audio quality at board meetings.

These are all positive steps towards providing more transparency.  Last year, Joe Leto  blocked all efforts towards improving BOE transparency.  He actually took great measures to even keep public information away from other board members.

Now let’s elect  new council members that bring transparency to Borough Hall.  PRIDE is the most anti-transparency group anywhere.  They won’t show who they are hiring on meeting minutes or anywhere for that matter.  They won’t post contracts.  They won’t videotape meetings.  They won’t hold their executive meetings in an actual meeting room that can accommodate the public.  They won’t post Resolutions, only a title.  They won’t post bills.  They don’t post job openings.  I have suggested all of these measures going back for years.  Each time, PRIDE is on record refusing.

New BOE members have shown Lodi that individuals who are elected while running against the corrupt machine do a better job.  Continue to vote for non-politicians.  Reject PRIDE.
