was a strike substitute at her son’s school. She recalls in my book: “When I’d
drive in, the teachers would yell at me and try to intimidate me. The unions
instructed teachers to remove teaching materials during the strike. They took
markers, books, and unplugged equipment. Whatever they had that was not
anchored to the ground, they either took out of their rooms or locked in
cabinets so the substitutes couldn’t use them to keep on track with the curriculum…for
a teachers’ union to have such a negative impact on students is extremely
telling of their priorities.”
