An Ex-fire Commissioner was Found Guilty of Ethics Violations and Fined. Unlike Tony Luna and Charles Cuccia, His Name Made the Papers and He Paid His Fine.

This public official’s violations and fine were reported by nj.com.  Nj.com reported: “Deegan paid the fine by personal check on Aug. 23, state records indicate.”

Tony Luna and Charles Cuccia were both found guilty of ethics violations in 2018 and fined.  Neither of them had their story or name published by any newspaper or news site other than this blog.  Five years after the fines were issued, the State indicated that neither were paid.

The Lodi Mayor and Council have misappropriated tens of thousands of Lodi tax dollars to appeal the fines of Tony Luna and Charles Cuccia.  There are no records showing that Tony Luna or Charles Cuccia reimbursed the Lodi taxpayers for those expenses.

There has not been any decision posted for those appeals. It is unfathomable that anyone would file an appeal for such blatant and serious violations.
