Was Mayor Carafa truthful to the papers?

Mayor Carafa to the papers: “The applications were narrowed down to three people who had master's degrees, Mayor Emil Carafa said. "We filtered it down to a few that were outstanding," he said.

Members of this administration claim Gary Paparozzi was one of three finalists.  Doesn’t that contradict the master’s degree claim?

Mayor Carafa owes the people of Lodi the truth about what process he used to select a new borough manager.  He should disclose the names of the three finalists and their education backgrounds.

He should also explain if a master’s degree automatically makes someone “outstanding”.   Everyone knows plenty of politicians with master’s degrees that aren’t “outstanding”. Lots of political County employees and elected officials receive a Masters in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson.

Mayor Carafa should explain why a college degree was so important for this selection when the last two managers didn’t have a college degree.  What changed in the last year?
