The Real World vs. The Public Commissions

Here is the reason for PVWC’s 5% wholesale rate increase:

“PVWC Executive Director Joseph A. Bella said several factors spurred the rate increases. He said water consumption is falling about 3 percent annually, owing to substantial rain and more efficient household fixtures that conserve water. At the same time, the 2014 budget includes higher costs for employee salaries, pensions and benefits, and chemicals to treat the water.”

Do they realize how out of touch they sound?  Do they realize how illogical their reasoning is?

In the real world, no business would survive by raising costs on the consumer when consumption is down.

If consumption is down,  there should be less operating costs.  There should be less political appointees on the payroll.

This is why people have no faith in government and why government is so inefficient.
