Did Their Attorney tell them to plea the 5th?

This Administration refused to answer ANY of my questions during the hearing of the citizens.  Marc Schrieks said he would answer them after the meeting was closed.  After they closed the meeting, not one question was answered.  The closest Marc came to an answer was: he attended a party in Atlantic City thrown by a business receiving a NO BID contract from Lodi but he refused to name the business.

I asked the council what triggered them to change the format of the meeting all of a sudden and if the rule change applied to everyone or just me.

I asked them to start televising the meetings so the public can see their arrogance in refusing to answer any questions.  They were informed that they are violating everything imaginable and refusing to answer for it.

Marc Schrieks threatened to have me removed from the meeting.

After I was done speaking, another Lodi resident told Marc Schrieks that Marc says every month that he will answer questions and never does.  He also spoke on the issue of the disrespect shown by Marc.

Marc in turn was nasty and disrespectful to the resident.

Below are the questions I asked word for word.  None were answered.

1)    I have a few questions regarding the “consulting fees” paid to the BOE President during the 6th quarter:

Approximately what time period does your sixth quarter cover?

How many Municipal Alliance meetings did Mr. Licata facilitate during the 6th quarter?

You never provided a public notice for any meetings and you don’t keep minutes.  This is in violation of the Open Public Meetings Act.  How will you address this moving forward?  Why are you not providing this on the borough website?

Can you post on the Borough website the financial report he completed for the 6th Quarter?

Why would Mr. Licata submit on June 10th that he should be paid for attending TIPS training which was supposedly held more than two weeks later?

When and where did his TIPS training take place?

I spoke to many residents of Lodi that received TIPS training, some for their employment as bartenders, and others for the civic organizations they belong to such as the Paramus Elks.  None could understand why the taxpayers of Lodi would pay Joe Licata for TIPS training.  What does training for those serving alcohol have to do with him doing paperwork for the committee?

Don’t you think Joe Licata should return his consulting fees?

2)    Mr. Spiniello, the following form is page 18 of Mr. Luna’s current contract.  Can you please explain this form as it relates to Mr. Luna?

Why is it checked off that Mr. Luna was retired as of October 21, 2008 with 15 years or more of service with the employer?

3)    Lodi’s legal fees are skyrocketing.  You don’t follow the Appendix of the Best Practices Checklist for Engaging and Managing Legal Counsel.  You answered YES last year.  Mr. Spiniello acknowledged at a council meeting afterwards that you don’t follow it.  This year, you answered YES again.  Instead of lying about following it, why don’t you just follow it?

4)    Mr. Schrieks, last month you stated you would provide answers tonight to two questions from last month (the date of your health insurance signup and if you attended any parties in Atlantic City  thrown by anyone doing business with the Borough).
