On December 27th, five Board members (Vara, Carafa, Miller, Nardino, and Carbonetti)
awarded a $6,053,500 contract for the project during Christmas break. This was intentional, knowing that I would
join the Board one week later.

This wasn’t just an idea. It happened.
On January 4th, I replaced Nick Vara on the
Board. Within the short grace period to
pull out of the contract, the Board was able to suspend it (with 4 votes).
Lodi was just days away from being out 8 million tax
dollars. A structurally sound building
was about to be demolished.
Elections have consequences. This one example cannot make that any clearer. The "machine" was not putting "Children First" when it was ripping off the taxpayers during Christmas break.
Some
may have short term memory. But the
Board was completely out of control just a few months ago.
The people of Lodi should never forget what the “machine”
did.
