It was two days after Christmas. Schools were closed for the week. People were on vacation.
There was a BOE Election a month earlier where then
BOE Vice President Nick Vara was soundly defeated. The board was in a lame duck session. Newly elected board members including myself
would be sworn in the following week on January 4th.
The
corrupt political machine called a special meeting and awarded a $6,053,500
contract to demolish and replace the Lincoln administration building. There were additional costs that would have
brought the price tag of the project to over $8,000,000.
Mike Nardino showed complete disregard for the
taxpayers of Lodi. In 2015 and 2016,
many Lodi residents attended meetings to speak out against the unnecessary
project. No member of the public ever
spoke in support of it. Nardino could
have cared less what the public had to say.
Nardino could have cared less about taxes being raised on the struggling
Lodi taxpayers.
Mike Nardino blatantly lied when he said the building was
not structurally sound and that it wasn’t safe for meetings. Nardino had engineer reports in front of him
stating the opposite.
There are court decisions against public bodies taking certain actions during lame duck sessions.

Boards don’t take actions like these at special
meetings while schools are closed.
Capizzi, Quatrone, Nardino, and other “Children First” members were hell-bent on delivering the contract and spending $8,000,000. They would stop at nothing.
This was their second attempt. They tried the same thing one week earlier on
December 21st. Linked below
is a letter I sent to all of them on December 19, 2016.
Mike Nardino violated public trust. He has no regard for the taxpayers. Nardino has to go!
