“Annual bonuses have ranged from a low of $950 to Ocean City Superintendent Kathleen Taylor in 2013-14 to more than $25,000 given to at least a dozen superintendents in districts including Fort Lee, Cherry Hill, Lodi, Mahwah, Westfield and West Windsor-Plainsboro.
“Wow” said Erica Jedynak, state director of Americans for Prosperity, when told of the bonuses. She said she was aware of the salary cap, and that superintendents were eligible for bonuses, but she had no idea how much they were getting.
“Fifteen percent seems like a lot,” she said. “This is not the private sector.””
