WITHOUT ANY BOARD APPROVAL OR RESOLUTION, someone from Lodi filed a claim with the BOE’s insurance provider to retain an attorney for Trustees Miller, Carafa, and Nardino in the matter reported on below:
Past procedure has been: the Board of Education votes on a resolution
at an open public meeting to file a claim with its insurance provider. The policy would require Lodi to cover the
first $5,000 in legal costs and the insurance provider the rest.
Miller, Carafa, and Nardino clearly have
no regard for the Lodi taxpayers by attempting to waste thousands of tax
dollars needlessly on legal bills for themselves.
Why would the three be incapable of providing a simple answer without outside legal representation?
Why would the three be incapable of providing a simple answer without outside legal representation?
This is all they had to file in their answer: Board Attorney Alisa DiChiara
advised them they could vote on Jonathan Carafa’s removal.
Before they voted, other Trustees warned them that their
votes could be an ethics violation and tax dollars better not be wasted.
