This article was posted on northjersey.com:
Here are the facts:
1) The Board
has been discussing this ballot question since January 4, 2017.
2) One day
before the vote, Board members received an email from Board Attorney Alisa
Dichiara with vague statues. She did not
provide anything from the County Board of Elections or the Department of State.
3) I asked Ms.
Dichiara to: “Please give the Board members all options.”
4) Ms. Dichiara
did not provide any options.
5) Ms. Dichiara
was not in attendance at the June 28th meeting. She was not in attendance at the June 21st
work session when the Resolution was handed to us and we were told to agree on
a question. (She wasn’t in attendance at the June 26th special meeting either).
6) Ms. Cattafi
called the ballot vote “illegal”. Maybe
the board should have consistent legal representation at its meetings.
Furthermore, I have a serious problem with this listed
at the bottom of the article:
“In 2015, a survey of the structure found the
building was unsafe in support and ceiling frames. The cost to repair the
building was estimated to be $5 million or $7 million to build a new one.”
That $5 million number is complete BS. The
person that wrote the report said those were estimates for things can occur
fifty years down the road, like if there was a 100 year flood. That was never the cost for necessary repairs.
The initial report said the building was “generally
sound and in good structural condition.”
I am tired of the distortions.
