Did Scott Luna delay the tax bills to shield his son from criticism in this week's Saddle Brook council election? If the Lunas want to run on their family's Lodi legacy, which is the worst tax record anywhere, I am sure they would not want Saddle Brook voters to know what Garret's father just did to the Lodi taxpayers. Last year, Scott Luna and his council increased municipal taxes 15.64%:
It's a really bad Luna tax legacy. Garrett's grandfather increased Lodi's municipal taxes 35% in 1991.
The following appeared in the Record newspaper on March 15, 1991:
“Prominent issues in the campaign were last year's 35 percent tax increase and the recent indictment of Peter Schettino, the borough's former finance officer, on charges he embezzled more than $500,000.”
