All candidates should agree to a forum/debate. They owe it to the Lodi voters.

A member of “Bergen Grassroots” began contacting Lodi BOE candidates today, asking them if they would attend a forum held by their organization.

They are a non-partisan group that recently held a forum for Bergen County candidates (Sheriff, Surrogate, Freeholders).  They are experienced and respected in this area.

This is a great opportunity for Lodi.  Lodi should be grateful that this organization has offered itself.

All ten candidates should agree to a forum.  They owe it to the voters.

All candidates should give a "Yes" response as soon as possible.

Where was the PARCC presentation?

Every district is required to have a public presentation on last year’s PARCC results within a certain time frame.  I hear people from other towns discussing power point presentations.  I hear some saying their meetings went on for hours.  I hear them discussing passing rates, sub-group performance, state averages, etc.

At the October 25th meeting, Mr. Quatrone stated that Lodi had better scores than last year.  Joe Licata mumbled something.  And the PARCC discussion ended there.

Where was the presentation?

What percentage of students “met expectations” at each level?  How did Lodi compare to the State?

I submitted an OPRA request but didn't get answers to either of those questions.  I received less information than last year.  Last year, the Board at least showed whether Lodi was above or below average at each level when compared to the State.
