D. Miller ran up quite a bill… abuse of power, misuse of tax dollars!

Below is only a small section of the May bills from the Sciarillo firm.  Before the politicians start palpitating, Mr. Sciarillo said the bills aren’t confidential and are drawn up for public requests.

Dominic Miller took “private board action” by contacting Mr. Sciarillo and running up all types of bills, many of which directly benefitted him and were political in nature.  He never received authorization from the rest of the board.  He never updated the board on the matters that Lodi was being billed.

The bills labeled “D. Miller In Board Inquiry” included reviewing my blog posts.  With all the issues facing our district and students, D. Miller spent Lodi tax dollars reviewing my blog posts.  Without board approval.

Many bills directly state, “preparation and drafting of ethics complaint”.   Their explanation: it was only a stroke a keyboard.  Over and over again.  Just a stroke of the keyboard.

Many bills state: “Receipt and review of email and attachments from D. Miller in Re: Board Inquiry”.  Mr. Sciaiarillo claimed that he is never by the computer so emails and attachments weren’t sent to him by Dominic Miller.

It was stated that Dominic Miller and Mr. Sciarillo spent most of their time talking by phone.  Both claimed that they never kept records of the dates and times of their phone calls.  Unacceptable!

The Board voted tonight on the Sciarillo bills.

Three board members- Carafa, Nardino, and Miller had conflicts of interest being Sciarillo billed Lodi for an ethics complaint involving them.  Lodi is already paying another firm “Riker” to help them with their ethics complaint (they couldn’t answer on their own).

A Board cannot file an ethics complaint as an entity.  Tax dollars cannot be used in filing an ethics complaint.

The vote on the Sciarillo bills involving “ethics complaint” (Miller had a lot more conflicts than Carafa and Nardino):

NO- Curioni, Mastrofilipo

YES- Mara

Abstain- Miller, Carafa, and Nardino

The vote to approve the bills in which involved Miller, Carafa, and Nardino failed 2-1.

I am sure the Board is scheming now to find a way to pay Sciarillo for all bills.

Dominic Miller makes enough from Lodi.  It’s time for him to pay his private attorney with private money.
