I look forward to paying $46 for an audio CD of a public meeting in the year 2015.

Mr. Olear and Mr Desomma:

“The actual cost is the cost of the material only”

Please read the following from the government records council:

Please read the following Herald News article from 2009.  If towns in Sussex County were charging between 35 and 50 cents in 2009, it seems out of the ordinary for you to charge $46 today.

“Audio recordings vary in availability and cost in several of the smaller towns in the county, but most towns said a CD of a meeting would cost between 35-50 cents.”

Chatham lists the cost for an audio CD at $1.79 on its OPRA request form. That seems like one of the higher charges for a CD (in the absence of your $46 charge).

If you want to violate the Open Public Records Act, I will pay the $46 for the CD.   And then I will file a complaint with the Government Records Council seeking a refund for excessive charges.

Please tell me how you would like to receive the deposit.  Who should it be written to and for what amount?
