$46 for a cd? Maybe at HUD. Not in the real world.

Staples 10365 700MB CD-R, Spindle, 50/Pack
“Custodians must charge the actual cost to provide access to all other electronic materials such as CD-ROMs, DVDs, videotapes, audiotapes, etc. No specific calculation is required to determine the actual cost of these supplies. The actual cost is the specific fee the agency paid to purchase the materials. For example, if the GRC purchased a package of 100 CD-ROMs for $100 and provided records to a requestor on 1 CD-ROM, the actual cost of said CD-ROM is $1.00 ($100 ÷ 100 = $1.00).”

From page 22 of the link below (Citizens guide to Open Public Records Act):

Tommy Desomma had an attorney send me a letter about a website that isn’t mind, claiming defamation.

Then it was alleged that Desomma made defamatory statements at his last Housing Authority meeting.

I requested the audio of the meeting on November 21st.  Today, I got an email stating that the audio cassette or cd is $45.95 plus tax and a $25 deposit is required.

The LHA needs to read the Open Public Records Act.

I know they are accustomed to overpaying for everything and directing all their business to cronies and family members.  But maybe they should pay a visit to Staples or Walmart.

They would never waste their own money like they waste others'.

It is no wonder why candidates in the presidential debates spend so much time discussing waste and corruption at HUD.
