Two law firms “Florio Perrucci” and “Pfund McDonnell”
have been submitting monthly bills for a matter
involving Anthony “Tony” Luna, a Department of Community Affairs complaint, and
the Office of the Attorney General.
Scott Luna has been abstaining on the Florio bills
because he has an obvious conflict of interest.
Scott Luna did NOT abstain on the McDonnell bills at the April meeting
even though he has an obvious conflict with them as well.
Scott Luna would not disclose his conflict of interest
when questioned at the last council meeting.
The borough hall would not provide a copy of the DCA complaint after it
was requested through the Open Public Records Act.
The Lodi taxpayers have paid tens of thousands of
dollars in recent months for a matter involving the mayor’s father. The Lodi taxpayers have right to know what
type of matter they are paying for. Tony
Luna hasn’t been borough manager for five years. Why
isn’t the South Bergen Joint Insurance Fund covering the legal costs for a
matter involving Tony Luna? Is
it a proper use of Lodi tax dollars to pay two firms for a matter involving
Tony Luna? If Scott Luna doesn’t
disclose the type of matter, we won’t know if his administration is improperly
using public funds to benefit his family financially.
