This OPRA request was submitted last week:
A copy of any agreements
between the Borough of Lodi and Scott Luna pertaining to the use of Lodi fields
for his personal businesses (baseball camps/clinics).
This was the response I
received today:
Scott Luna never had an
agreement with the Borough. No receipts
of any payments were produced which means Scott Luna never paid Lodi for his
use of town fields.
This is NOT OK.
If any other Lodi
resident wished to use borough facilities for their own private tennis
business, softball business, soccer business, etc. where they charged and
collected a large amount of money from clients, they would be told to take a
hike. Scott Luna received a special
privilege. Apparently that privilege
came from the same Recreation department where his son is now employed in a
newly created position.
Ads like these have
appeared in newspapers for years:
Lodi voters should have a
real problem with certain families receiving all special privileges at the
expense of everyone else.
