My sources told me on Monday that Bob Reilly was
chosen by Capizzi for the vacant board seat.
Mr. Reilly is a nice person. Of course he would be better than Joe Licata.
But if Mr. Reilly wanted to be on the board, he should
have ran in the November election like the other ten candidates.
We had an election one week ago. Thousands voted.
The open seat should be offered to Al
Mastrofilipo. If he declines, it should
be offered to Paula Rivera, then Joe Bigica, and then Lou Tuccillo.
I was always consistent on this. I told everyone before the election that the
4th place finisher should get Licata’s seat no matter who it
is. I respect the voters.
Capizzi lost two seats last week because people are
sick and tired of his backroom deals.
They are sick of their votes being taken away.
Handpicking someone prior to the deadline and prior to
any interviews being conducted is just another Capizzi backroom deal.
Capizzi’s Board is going to parade Al, Paula, Joe, and
Lou in for interviews this Tuesday just to waste their time and make a mockery
of the process.
After the interviews, Capizzi’s Board is going to say
that they chose Mr. Reilly because he has board experience from serving in the ‘90s.
This whole charade is insulting to those that
ran. It is insulting to those that voted
for those that ran.
Please attend this Tuesday’s meeting at 7 pm. Enough is enough.
