The number of administrators is not why Lodi failed QSAC.

The Lodi Board of Education failed its QSAC review for “Instruction and Program”.

So the BOE responded by adding two additional Supervisors of Curriculum/Instruction.  As all these new titles are being added, it should be pointed out that Lodi’s school population really hasn’t increased over the last decade.

Anyone can look at Paterson to see that more administrators, more titles, and more bureaucracy does not improve a failing system.   It only puts more money in the pockets of the politicians and the politically connected.

It is time for the BOE to reflect and take responsibility for its own failings.  The biggest threat to the quality of education in Lodi is nepotism, patronage, and corruption.  The most important decisions are still being made while riding around in big black Lexus or a bluish grey BMW.  And those decisions have severely hurt the students.

Because of Jamie Ciofalo’s political connections (Licata) and political activism, the Lodi politicians rolled out the red carpet for him as he came back to Lodi from Fort Lee.  He became one of the highest paid administrators in Lodi in a very short time.  But his guidance office was deemed so ineffective, the BOE had to give Quatrone a merit bonus to improve it.

So how is Jamie Ciofalo going to fix the “instruction” deficiencies?

He will spend half of his time at the high school and half at the middle school.  What does that mean?   Half of his email blasts soliciting business for his bullying workshops can now be sent from the middle school.  Half of his book editing can take place at the middle school.

And during workshops at the Boys and Girls Club during school days, his office will be empty at both school locations.

Flashback to 3 years ago:  Quatrone fed the following story to  the Community News.

Will Lodi's rating be reported by the news this year?
