The average person is unaware of the abuses of New Jersey teacher unions.
The actions of the Jersey City Board of Education and its teachers’ union
violate the State constitution. The
bigger point: its theft of tax dollars.
“The group claims the policy has cost taxpayers $1.2 million over
the last five years in pay and benefits for the two union officials, JCEA
President Ron Greco and JCEA Second Vice President Tina Thorp (the lawsuit
names a different teacher but the JCEA said Greco and Thorp are the two who
receive release time).
Payroll records show Greco makes $106,580 annually as a crisis
intervention teacher. Thorp earns about $99,000 as an elementary school
teacher.”
Actions of abusive unions often go unnoticed or turned
a blind eye to because they are so big and powerful. They have unlimited access to tax dollars and
employee wages. The union leaders are
often obnoxious misfits that most teachers wouldn’t want to associate with in
or out of school. But those misfits are
propped up with all the money and organization.
The LEA union bosses should disclose their
compensation to the employees that they supposedly represent and to the taxpayers
of Lodi that pay them to educate students, not run our schools like a union
hall.
How could past labor agreements allow Lodi union
bosses to use our schools and the taxpayers’ dime to engage in union
activities? Click on link below:
