Articles about Superintendents should touch upon these observations…

-      New Jersey had the highest property taxes in the nation in 2016.  Small, cash-strapped, poor towns are not in a position to pay public employees $250,000.

-      Many states have one superintendent for a county as opposed to one superintendent for every town or district.

-      You hear New Jersey superintendents complaining about salary caps, saying that $167,500 or $191,000 is not enough.  Not long ago, they were earning teachers’ salaries.  You would think they would be appreciative for what they are earning today.  They aren’t leaving Wall St. to manage small districts.
