Licata: “Since 2012 the Lodi High School graduation
rate has increased 81 percent to 94 percent”.
A few years ago, the Record posted graduation
rates. Lodi had one of the lowest in
Bergen County, far behind almost all others.
It was nice to see such a drastic increase.
The Lodi Board clearly had a plan to increase
graduation rates. Unfortunately, it
didn’t include improving academic performce. In fact, many categories showed Lodi performing better academically when they had an 81% rate compared to a 94% rate. That doesn't make sense to most.
Licata’s 94% figure came from the 2014-2015 school
report card.
On that same report card, Lodi did not meet 4 out of 5
targets for “College and Career Readiness”.
The only target met was for “participation” in the PSAT. The 3rd and 5th
indicators actually dealt with performance (SAT & AP). Lodi could not break the 26 percentile among it's peers.
You can read more about the “College and Career Readiness” results beginning on page 13 (also look at page 23 to see Lodi's peer group):

Ciofalo should have spent less school time on his multitude of side businesses.
Lodi can do better and will do better without all the nepotism and corruption from the current BOE.
