Tony Luna and his “United for Lodi” ticket clearly
violated election law when they used Lodi tax dollars to mail their “Lodi
Update” 13 days before a municipal election.
No bid Neglia gave “United for Lodi” another $7500 campaign contribution. No bid Maser gave another $5000. Campaign contributions poured in days within the election from other no bidders cashing in from Lodi.
Masopust and Luna could easily have used the no bidders’ cash to pay back the Lodi taxpayers. But at Tuesday’s council meeting, they were defiant and arrogant. They backtracked prior statements they made to the Record newspaper. They won’t even look into the matter unless a complaint is filed.
While campaigning, many voters asked me to recoup the tax dollars spent on the “Lodi Update”. I will.
