Riverdale Councilman Ted Guis paid back
the borough $25,000 on December 1st for his SHBP premiums. And Riverdale didn’t even have an ordinance or
resolution in place.
Lodi had a resolution in place barring Councilman Marc Schrieks from receiving health benefits at the time he began receiving them.
It is disgraceful that not one member of this administration asked Marc Schrieks to pay the borough back for the health benefits he was not entitled to receive in September 2010.
If Marc doesn't release the date he began receiving benefits at the next meeting, that information will have to be OPRAed. He had promised to release that date four months ago. Then at council meetings, he says he left the information on his desk somewhere.
It is very sad that elected officials are held accountable in other towns by residents and other elected officials. And in Lodi, they get away with every abuse.
The Riverdale councilman would not have paid back his premiums if residents weren't writing letters to the editor or attending meetings and if fellow council members weren't adding pressure.
