Joey Torres in the Record today, Why not Tony Luna?

This article about Paterson’s Mayor appeared in the Record newspaper today:

Apparently, Tony Luna has been receiving a Post-Retirement benefit effective January 1, 2009 even though he is not retired and the form he submitted contains false information.

The Above document is page 18 of Tony Luna's current contract:

A few things to point out:

1)  On October 21, 2008 Tony Luna certified that the Borough will be paying 100% of the premiums for him and his dependents.

Current employees have to pay a percentage of their premiums.

2)  Tony Luna checked off that he was retired in 2008 at age 62 or older with 15 years or more of service with employer.

There is no way that Luna had 15 years or more with the Borough in 2008.

3)  Luna checked off that his benefits don’t apply to current retirees.

4)  Tony Luna was the Certifying Officer of the form he submitted.

Please read pages 3 and 4 below.  It is the blank form of what Tony Luna filled out for himself in 2008.  The columns on page 3 can be read more clearly than the form in Luna’s contract and the directions are printed on page 4.
